Curriculum

Our commitment to integrated learning sees tried and true teaching methods fused with innovative learning techniques that ensure your daughter receives the finest education possible.  

Our curriculum goes beyond core homeroom subjects. Our core curriculum encompasses English, Mathematics, Social Science, and Science, build on and extend children’s fundamental skills. By weaving Social Science and Science topics into English and Mathematics, we create purposeful learning experiences, empowering girls to develop a depth of understanding and make meaningful connections with the world around them.

Our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) classes are exceptional and evolve to the needs and aptitudes of each student. We work hard to unearth their innate talents. Life skills like problem-solving, cooperation, and self-management are all integrated into everyday learning.  

Technology proficiency is a given. We support children to thrive in a technological age, navigating current digital platforms with the very latest tools, through a blended and balanced use of technology.

Fostering Creativity

Middle School sees girls build on their confidence and understanding of the visual arts. The ability to ideate, create, and respond to art will help them understand the role art plays in the world. Learning occurs in our art room, a warm, naturally lit studio with mediums to inspire young creative minds: paint, pastel, print, or clay sculpture. An on-site kiln lets us fire clay artworks.

Art learning focuses on building on previous stores of knowledge to create confidence in creative choices and the ability to discuss rationale and meaning. The school environment prominently displays student artwork year-round.

Igniting the Arts   

Our Arts programme allows our girls to express their performance talents and build courage, perseverance, and teamwork. From instrument tuition to our popular choral syllabus, music, speech and drama, students have numerous opportunities to engage, excel fully, and grow personally. 

We encourage all students to showcase their talents through our extensive events and performances calendar. Musical shows, soirees, creative arts evenings and more are held at assemblies for parents and friends, as well as outside the school. These inclusive experiences create a sense of belonging and collaboration within our school community.

Growing Tomorrow's Athletes

A wide range of sports enables our girls to explore where their athletic talents lie.

Traditional sports like athletics, cricket, and netball are popular. Still, your child might find our more unique options engaging — flippa ball (a derivative of water polo), gymnastics, tennis, and touch rugby, to name a few. 

Our sports programme builds a love for physical activity and develops essential life skills like teamwork, leadership, followership, and strategic thinking. 

Developing Courage and Confidence through Education Outside The Classroom – EOTC 

Challenging our girls beyond the classroom is a planned part of our curriculum. We aim to provide opportunities they may not otherwise encounter, fostering curiosity, independence, self-confidence, and overcoming new challenges. 

Our Year 4 students embark on overnight trips such as an evening at Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium. In Year 5 and beyond, students participate in camp programmes which offer progressively more significant challenges. A well-curated EOTC syllabus enables students to apply learnings from the classroom and cement them in real-world situations. 

These outings allow participation in various outdoor and cultural activities or service, enhancing interpersonal skills and creating lasting memories and close bonds with fellow students. 

Enhanced Learning 

We understand that every student is unique, and we strive to support their specific needs. Our enhanced learning programme offers a well-established support system for students if particular learning needs require this. 

Our Unique Pathways curriculum extends our gifted and talented students through the provision of innovative programmes, providing opportunities for learners to engage in high-order thinking and academic challenges which extend and stimulate.
