We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant – Learning Support (Numeracy/Maths Focus) to join our Enhanced Learning team. Reporting to the Head of Enhanced Learning, this role plays an important part in supporting students to reach their potential through targeted classroom and small-group assistance.

This position is term time only, working five days per week during school hours (8.45 am – 3.15 pm) to provide in-class support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with specific learning needs in classroom and small-group settings
  • Provide targeted assistance to strengthen numeracy and mathematical understanding
  • Track student progress and maintain communication with teachers and caregivers
  • Contribute to an inclusive, supportive learning environment that reflects the College’s values

About You

You will bring warmth, patience, and a genuine desire to help students thrive. You will also have:
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Confidence in Mathematics/Numeracy up to NCEA Level 1 (an advantage)
  • Experience working collaboratively in a school environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to professional learning, wellbeing, and safeguarding best practice
