About Saint Kentigern
Saint Kentigern is a leading independent school organisation in Australasia, providing a high-quality Presbyterian education to over 3,500 students from Early Learning to Year 13 across four schools.
Based at our Pakuranga Campus, the Trust Services team provides centralised specialist support across the organisation. The People & Culture team works as a trusted advisor to leaders and staff, delivering consistent, fair, and people-focused services that support employees and student wellbeing.
The role
This is a hands-on coordination role at the centre of our People & Culture function. You will support core HR administration, recruitment, onboarding, and compliance processes, while taking responsibility for People & Culture systems to ensure they are accurate, effective, and support a positive employee experience across the employee lifecycle.
The role contributes to a People & Culture approach grounded in consistency, fairness, confidentiality, and care in everyday interactions. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation and be part of a small, supportive People & Culture team with a strong on-site presence.
This role is best suited to someone who enjoys contributing within established frameworks, supporting others, and maintaining operational effectiveness.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate core People & Culture administration, including recruitment, onboarding, and compliance processes
- Own and maintain People & Culture systems, ensuring data integrity, usability, and a positive employee experience
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience within existing frameworks
- Provide respectful, timely, and confidential People & Culture support to staff, leaders, and external stakeholders
- Support People & Culture projects and process improvement initiatives

You are organised, methodical, and comfortable working with systems and detail. You take pride in accuracy, confidentiality, and being a reliable point of contact for others, and you bring sound judgement and discretion to your work.
You value working in a People & Culture environment that is grounded in care, fairness, consistency, and respect, and you are motivated by supporting staff through well-managed, values-aligned people processes. You enjoy contributing within established frameworks and being part of a small, supportive team that works collaboratively and professionally.
You will also bring:
- A diploma-level qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, Office Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 1–2 years’ experience in HR administration, or systems support, ideally within education or a similar environment.
- Strong IT capability, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with Job Adder, ELMO, Synergetic, or RemWise is advantageous
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach
- Competitive remuneration
- 4% KiwiSaver contribution
- Subsidised Southern Cross health insurance
- Two additional Saint Kentigern leave days per year
- Fees discount
- Staff wellbeing programme
- Access to an on-site gym
