About Role:

Come work with a team who maintain and develop the grounds and gardens at Saint Kentigern College.   We’re ready to take on someone fresh to horticulture and grounds work and invest in their training and growth – including supporting you to gain industry level certification. 
  
You’ll report to our Head Groundsman, and be joining a highly skilled and friendly team who will all take part in training and coaching you on the job.  You will be provided work gear too.   You’ll learn how to use and maintain a wide variety of quality horticulture-based machinery in order to provide results on the grounds that provide an attractive working and learning environment and enhance the presentation of the site.
  
You’ll carry out general garden maintenance, planting, weeding, weed-eating and pruning.  You’ll be keeping our internal roads, entrance ways, pathways and grounds free of debris.  You’ll be mowing and maintaining lawns.  You’ll see first-hand on a daily basis the difference you can make in a day and the variety across the seasons.
  
If you enjoy physical work and being outdoors - as well as having a good attitude and have a track record of being reliable - this may be the perfect job for you, with room to learn and grow into a career.  We welcome applications from recent school leavers interested.

Skills and experience:
  • Physically fit – including bending and sometimes heavy lifting
  • Good at following instruction
  • Reliable
  • Enjoys working outdoors year around
  • Team player
  • Holds a current full drivers’ license (clean)
