Boys and Girls Years 7-10 (Ages 11-14)

Curriculum
Students progress through our curriculum building knowledge, character and values for life. Our focus is to develop well-rounded young adults with a deep love of learning. By nurturing excellence beyond the classroom, we develop academically proficient and empowered students who positively impact the world around them. This prepares them to thrive on the global stage, determined to contribute to society.
Parallel Education
Our innovative 'parallel education' model offers a unique blend of learning experiences during the Middle School years. Recognising that boys and girls have distinct learning preferences during this stage of development, single-gender classrooms are allocated for core curriculum subjects for years 7-10. This allows girls and boys to thrive in an environment that best suits their evolving needs.
Progression to the Senior School (Years 11-13) sees students transition into a co-educational setting. Here, young men and women collaborate, cultivate teamwork and develop their interpersonal and social skills.
Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC)
We have a rich tradition of extending our students through educational experiences beyond the confines of our campus. EOTC is a treasured aspect of our curriculum, offering diverse opportunities for students to thrive in varied environments.
This style of education takes on numerous forms and reflects our commitment to holistic teaching. From orientation camps for Year 7 to 9 to immersive field trips, students encounter challenges that inspire growth and link to their formal learning.
Visits can include art galleries and museums for visual arts enthusiasts, workshops for budding performing artists, university lectures, and cultural outings. We also emphasise community service opportunities to create an early sense of responsibility and empathy.
Orientation camps, in particular, serve as catalysts for new friendships, house bonds, and personal development. These experiences, filled with physical and social challenges, build resilience, camaraderie, and a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of our Saint Kentigern family.
Venturing beyond the familiar helps our students gain more confidence and an appreciation of the world around them.
Enhanced Learning
The Enhanced Learning Centre provides a well-established system of support for our diverse learners to access the curriculum and achieve their unique potential.
We implement proven, research-driven strategies to ensure that students are given the most effective educational options for their ongoing development.
Gifted Students
Gifted students with more learning capacity can be engaged in several ways. Through collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies (if required), we can create individual learning pathways and support designed to extend students' particular strengths. Support can also include individual case manager guidance, in-class guidance, and mentoring. Through our in-school Scholar Groups, we can offer encouragement, friendship and connection with like minds that empower students to excel and reach for more.
A culture of inclusion is cultivated across the College to ensure all students from all walks of life feel welcome and valued.
