We prioritise a secure and positive environment for every girl, facilitated by meaningful interactions with class teachers, tutor teachers, and the House system. Our House system encourages interaction within a close-knit community, building camaraderie and a sense of belonging among students. These educators are primary contacts for students needing guidance or support.
Nurturing Student Wellbeing
Above all else, the wellbeing of our students takes precedence, ensuring each girl receives the highest standard of care.
Our pastoral care system nurtures the holistic development of each student through promoting self-awareness and mutual support for each other. Our small class sizes, combined with a dedicated team of faculty and support roles, allow us to closely monitor each student’s social, academic, and emotional growth.
Our students build trust-based relationships with their tutors and teachers. Friendly and respectful relationships enable us to create a safe environment where any issues, such as academic challenges or wellbeing needs, can be addressed promptly and effectively.
Enhanced wellbeing is directly linked to improved academic performance, stronger social skills, and a healthier self-image, thereby supporting all students in their endeavours to succeed.
Leadership
Our student leadership, represented by the School Council, comprises of representatives from Years 3 to 8 and spearheads numerous service initiatives within the school. The council encourages students to support community causes that resonate with them. These causes include the Starship Foundation, SPCA, Child Cancer, and the Petal Foundation. The ability to make an impact and assist those less fortunate holds a special place in our girls’ hearts.
The student leadership team also includes our Head Girl, Deputy Head Girl, Chapel, Student Council, Academic, Sport, Arts and House Prefects – all Year 8 girls. These students serve as role models to our student body, embodying the qualities of a Saint Kentigern girl and demonstrating the importance of contribution and service, vital attributes for development and growth.
Embracing Leadership – Big Sister – Little Sister
Students are encouraged to form friendships with younger students and model behaviour to help foster a sense of belonging and encourage student engagement.
Saint Kentigern’s educational journey is underpinned by our core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and love, ensuring student wellbeing and service remain at the forefront of our mission.
